Sharm El Sheikh holiday guide and information

Holiday resort description and information

Sharm el-Sheik is one of the largest tourist destinations in the Arabic world. But there are also some very good reasons to visit it if you are not the common tourist, who likes to lay on the beach all day. It is one of the finest diving spots in the world and a trip into the desert is an unforgettable adventure.

The Sinai peninsula is a remote desert mountain range. The Rocky mountains are separated from the azure blue waters desert strip. The contrast between desert, mountain and sea is an incredible sight and makes you believe your are witnessing a spectacular landscape.

Fifteen years ago, Sharm el-Sheikh was just a fishing village with about 100 inhabitants. The Egyptians built up a tourist holiday resort and now the population is 10,000 people plus. There is a modern promenade, hospital, restaurants and cafes including a Hard Rock Cafe. Welcome to Sharm (as it is called) we know you are going to enjoy it.

Getting on holiday, Flights and airports.

Ophira Airport is located northeast of Sharm el Sheikh. It is a 20-minute drive from the airport to the city centre. The airport is located just off the main road that follows the coast directly into Sharm.
