Weather and the best time to go on holiday to Egypt.
Egypt hardly receives rainfall at all, except in the winter months. South of Cairo,there can be an average rainfall of between 2mm to 5mm in the year and this is not every year. However to give a better indication,in the far north in the Alexandria area for example, you are likley to get the most rain, maybe upto 19cm a year, while far to the south the average is more likley to be around 10mm over a five year period.
Temperatures usually average between 27°C and 32°C in the summer months, and maybe up another 10°C on the coast of the Red Sea. Average temperatures are likley to be between 13°C and 21°C in the winter months.
The best time to visit Egypt depends on where you want to go as Egypt is such a large country. The winter months, December to February are usually the most popular times to visit. Between June and August it is usually too uncomfortable for visitors in most places south of Cairo.

There are many places which should be the first place that you would want to visit on your visit to Egypt if you are interested in the ancient world: The city of Luxor is home to a great number of ancient artifacts and treasures of the past, the awe inspiring Karnak Temple and the famous Valley of the Kings.
Ancient Thebes, is lined with untold numbers of burial chambers and without doubt can boast some of the most formidable monuments in all antiquity anywhere in the world.
Abydos is supposed to be the burial site of the god Osiris, one of the most revered sites in history, and now one of the best-preserved temples anywhere.
Egypt is very much part of the Holy Land, and tours to Christian and other religious monuments are very popular for many.
For the more adventurous among us there is always plenty to enjoy such as one of the nature and desert treks. There is some of the most fantastic scuba diving imaginable, with a diving centre based at Sharm El Sheikh.
For the more relaxing sporting enthusiast there are some beautiful golf courses where you will find many stunning fairways and greens to chase that perfect round of golf. There are ample beautiful courses to choose from in a number of destinations in Egypt, some are golf clubs in their own right and some in resorts, but all open to all visitors.
If fishing is your preferred pastime there is no shortage of fishing expeditions that are available.
If you really want to relax, nobody can say that you would have to go far to find the beach, could they? or take a relaxing trip down the wondrous Egypt Red Sea or Sinai coasts, or float down the River Nile on a luxurious river boat.
