Exuma is part of the chain of 365 islands that form the Bahamas. The Bahamas stretch across the Tropic of Cancer around 300 miles off the US coast. The largest of the Exuma Islands, Great Exuma, is home to Georgetown. This is a charming city that you must visit. There are flights to Georgetown from Nassau and Miami.

Exuma International Airport is located northwest of George Town on the island of Great Exuma in the Exuma district of the Bahamas. The airport is home to mostly regional jets, but some Canadian, and European Charters do serve the airport.
The Islands of the Bahamas are served by two airports: Nassau and Grand Bahama International Airports. Flights from Major European and North American/Canadian cities are available to these airports. Travel to the outer Islands of the Bahamas is possible with Bahamasair. Bahamasair have regular scheduled services to the Exumas, Abacos and other smaller inhabited islands.
Travel to the Abacos and The Exumas is also possible via the Ferry from Potter’s Cay in Nassau. These boat trips are available daily and it takes just over an hour.

Great Exuma enjoys fantastic year-round weather. Grand Isle is situated on the Eastern side of the island and enjoys steady breezes keeping you cool.
Bahamas temperatures are controlled by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream and so remain fairly constant. Because The Bahamas are closer to America and effected by American cold air streams they are cooler than other Caribbean islands.
Temperatures range from a warm 70 to 80 degrees F in the winter to a hot 80 to 90 degrees F (27 to 32 degrees Celsius) in the summer. The cooling trade winds keep temperatures comfortable in the hot summer months and cool in the evenings.

Lee Stocking Island, Great Exuma. Bonefishing, diving, skinnydipping and shelling are some of the popular attractions on this three mile island.
Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park, Great Exuma. The Exumas Land and Sea Park is a marine nature preserve with lots of opportunity for fun and attraction. Scuba divers will be particularly impressed at the dive possibilities.
Thunderball Grotto, Great Exuma. An underwater cave used in two James Bond films, a must for divers and snorkellers.
Bowe Family Plantation, Great Exuma. A disused cotton plantation which reminds visitors of the islands Colonial past.

There are a few specific requirements to get a VISA to the Bahamas. All visitors are asked to fill in immigration and departure cards when arriving/leaving the island. All travellers must have a valid ticket to leave the islands on arrival.
US citizens can visit without a valid passport so long as they have identification and are staying less than eight months. Everybody else needs a valid passport to get into the islands and to stay there.

What language do the locals speak in resort?
The official language of The Islands Of The Bahamas is English, more British than American, and generally intertwined with a Bahamian dialect. Due to Haitian influence some dialect and accent can be heard from Haiti. Creole is also spoken widely.
